On February 25 the biggest event in Russian scrap market, the 5^th International Forum "Ferrous & and Non-Ferrous Scrap Metals - 2009" finished in Moscow. This event is one of the largest in Europe.

Unfortunately, the global crisis influenced the number of the participants: last years the Forum was attended by 400 participants, but this year there were not more than 200. About 50 participants were from CIS and far-abroad countries (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Baltic countries, USA, EU, Turkey UAE, Turkey, India).

However, this double decrease has not influenced the quality of the speeches presented. Besides the participants number decreased three or four times at other events held by Rusmet and other companies in last half-year.
This fact shows that scrap market players are likely to become the most active and interested group in the metallurgical raw materials market. From the other hand such "greater" participants number at the scrap forum can be referred to more interesting and well prepared agenda and experienced speakers.

Rusmet as the Forum organizer would like to thank all the participants for they managed to come to Moscow in this difficult time to discuss the current problems together. Special thanks are to the speakers and the participants of the discussions who shared their opinions about scrap metal market.
